Installation using Postgresql fails

Hi,
I would like to use postgresql(8.3). I select Pgsql instead of Mysql and follow the installation script but keep getting SQL errors. From what I can tell this is due to the fact that mediamosa.profile executes a set of Sql commands most of which would only work on Mysql. I am making changes to mediamosa.profile so that it runs with postgres, but I wanted to make sure this is a bug and not my own mistake. Also is there some else already taking care of this?

Officially we don't 'support' Postgresql; From the start, when MediaMosa wasn't open source (about 3 years ago), development was focused on MySQL support only. Basically its because some of the requirements wasn't supported by Postgresql at the start, and MySQL did.

Although we encourage community to make it Postgresql compatible (its open source no less), don't work on the 1.x version. We are releasing 2.1 version any moment now, which is total rewrite of the 1.x version.

Before you ask; no, 2.1 is not Postgresql compatible either. MediaMosa contains around 1700 database queries, and its impossible to test and convert them all. Also the 2.1 install profile will probably fail too on Postgresql. If you have any fixes for the coming release 2.1 for Postgresql, we'll implement them for release. For 1.x however, we won't. 1.x source code updates will be stop as soon as we release 2.x. Because its impossible for us to support both versions.

For test purposes, you can get an 2.x development SVN snapshot here; http://mediamosa.org/svn/mediamosa_snapshot_2-x/. Just keep in mind; its an development version, don't use it yet on production servers.
