When uploading a mediafile, there is currently not possibility to tell what type the file is, ffmpeg (mimetype) analyses the file to determine what type it is. It should be possible to tell if the uploaded file is a still.

It is possible to upload stills for mediafiles as a picture.

It is resolved in other trac issues; we have a parameter now at upload time to mark the mediafile as still (still_upload=true); see documentation (mediafile/upload [POST] [PUT])
